CAN GENTILES BE SAVED: WILL GENTILES BE SAVED DURING THE TRIBULATION?

Updated: Jul 25, 2023

The topic today is gentiles, The first question that comes to mind, is what is a gentile. There are many questions about gentiles, one of the most common question is:

Will Gentiles be saved during the tribulation?

Which is really just asking if gentiles can be saved. I’ll be answering this question, using scriptures to back up everything that I say.

I’ll be looking at Gentiles, both in the Law and the Prophets (“new” and “old” testaments), and identifying what the scriptures say about the Salvation of gentiles.

The first thing that we have to establish, is

What Is A Gentile?

A Gentile is a person of another “nation” that is not one of the 12 tribes of Israel putting them outside the nation of Israel physically by birth.

The word for Gentile in Hebrew is “Goyim”

Which means “Nation”, of another nation outside Israel

Concordance #1471

The word for Gentile in Greek is “Ethnos”

Concordance #1484

Which means the same thing, “Nation”

There is also a third word for gentile, but this Gentile means an Israelite, that had taken on the Gentile Greek customs.

They were called Hellenist’s

The Greek word “Hellen”

Concordance #1672

In the book of Deuteronomy 7 the Gentile separation made even clearer. We are told that the Most High made a covenant with the children of Israel.

Deuteronomy 7:6

6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

And as you can read above, chose them above all the other nations, this shows a separation between Israel and the other nations who are gentiles.

What Is The Tribulation?

The tribulation is claimed to be a time when there will be destruction on the Earth.

The story goes, that during this time those that are keeping the Commandments of the Most High, will be taken away into the sky.

This is so they escaped any destruction that comes upon the Earth. This sounds good in theory, but it is not substantiated by the scriptures.

Although tribulations can be proven within the scriptures, there is no scripture that claims a time when tribulations will occur that Believers will escape from in this manner.

What we are told in the scriptures is that during the very last days, those that are of the faith will be called to be with the Messiah on his second return.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

During this time the wicked on the Earth is destroyed and the earth reclaimed. After this the kingdom of the Most High will come down to the Earth.

Revelation 21:1-3

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Who Are The Gentiles Today?

It’s important to know if you’re a Gentile. This is important because the Messiah said salvation is “of the Jews (Israel)”.

John 4:22

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

He also told the disciples to go to Israel first before the Gentiles.

Matthew 10:5

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

All of this presents us with the order that the Most High has set up things i.e. Israel first and then the Gentiles (Other nations).

So who are the Gentiles today? When we look at the scriptures we see that Noah had 3 sons Shem (Genesis 10:1), Ham, Shem and Japheth.

Scriptures show us that Israel are from the seed of Shem, but more specifically Hebrew (Genesis 10:21, Genesis 14:13) , from Abraham Isaac and Jacob (Name changed to Israel).

Japheth’s Descendants

We know that Japepth is the European nations, scriptures tell us Cornelius was of the Italian band, so he was from the seed of Japheth.

Acts 10:1

1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

History also shows that the European Jews today are also from Japheth, as their forefather is Azkenaz.

Genesis 10:2-3

2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

This information can be found in Arthur Koestler’s “The 13th Tribe”, he himself was a European Jew.

Ham’s Descendants

We see in the scriptures the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:21-28) who ask the Yahusha (Jesus) to heal her daughter that was possessed with a demon.

The scriptures show that the seed of Canaan is from one of Ham’s sons.

Genesis 10:6

6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

Philip also baptized an Ethiopian treasurer and we know from scriptures that Ethiopians (called Cush in scriptures, seen above) are also from the seed of Ham.

In both the cases, Japheth and Ham, when they were dealt with by the Apostles and Yahusha (Jesus), it was made clear they were Gentiles.

That being said if you’re European or African you’re a Gentile today, I will summarise it all at the end.

Shem’s Descendants

The scriptures tell us that Israel are from the seed of Shem. This consists of the Arabs who Abraham was the father of, after he had a child called Ishmael with Hagar his maid servant.

Arabs are not Israel, as they are from Ishmael, who is the father of the Arabs (Arab means mixed people).

The scriptures tell us that Isaac would carry the promise (Commandments and covenant).

Genesis 17:20-21

20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

After Isaac, Jacob is born he’s name is changed to Israel (Genesis 32:28) and it’s from Jacob the 12 tribes of Israel are birthed.

We know from history that the Greeks said that Israel looked like Ethiopians (Cush), which was the term used to describe “Negro” or “black”people today.

When we look at prophesy Israel were told that they would lose their heritage and be taken to another land if they didn’t keep the commandments of the Most High.

Jeremiah 17:4

4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

The Most High also told Moses that they would go into bondage again like they were in Egypt.

Signs Identifying Israel

The telling signs are that this slavery would be with “slave ships”,

Deuteronomy 28:68

68 And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

and they would have “Yokes” of Iron on their necks.

Deuteronomy 28:48

48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

When we read the Apocrypha we are told that 9 Tribes sailed to the Americas in ships around 700BC, these are the so-called “Native American Indians” today.

After this around 2000 years later around 1500 AD, the Europeans invaded West African and took the people their in ships to the Americas with ships.

When christopher Columbus claimed he found America the “Native American Indians” were already there. It is documented that the European Spanish people subdued and enslaved Native Americans.

The same thing has happened to the Negros of West Africa, when they were taken to America, they were Hung, they had “Yokes” of Iron on their necks, and were treated with disdain, Just as the prophesy (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) said they would.

This is a brief explanation of a complex topic, but hopefully you can get a better Idea of who Gentiles and Israel is today.

So in summary…

Gentiles are Europeans, Asians, Africans, (Northern Africa, Ethiopians, Egyptians) Arabs.

Israel are Negros (West Africans, Americans, Negroes apart of the slave trade) Native Americans (Latinos, Hispanics) These all make up the 12 Tribes of Israel.

Can Gentiles Be Saved?

There are many that say that Gentiles cannot be saved, but is this confirmed in the scriptures?

I will begin by looking at the Messiah and what he said when he came.

The Messiah tells us from his own mouth that he came to fulfil

(Daniel 9:27) the law and not to do away with the law.

Matthew 5:17

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

By process of elimination, we know that the Law fulfilled was given to the children of Israel by Moses. Which indicates that the Messiah came for this specific people.

We can also find scripture where the Messiahs says he was only sent for Israel:

Matthew 15:24

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

You can even find scriptures where it says the Messiah would be called Yahusha (wrong translated Jesus). Because “he shall save his people“, which is the meaning of the word Yahusha, click here for an explanation of the true name of the Most High.

Matthew 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

But even with all of this, does it mean that Gentiles can’t be saved or have no place in the kingdom to come?

When we look further into the scriptures, we see that Messiah told his disciples not to go into the way of the gentiles when they were preaching.

Matthew 10:5

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

If we stop there, it could appear that the Messiah is saying that Gentiles have no part of the kingdom of the Most High to come…

Because the he Messiah also says that “salvation is of the Jews (Israel)” (John 4:22), all of this again may point to exclusivity when it comes to salvation…

But after the Messiah says not to go into the way of the gentiles, he later on says, “go to “all” nations to preach the word.

Matthew 28:19

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Since Gentile means nations, the Messiah is saying to teach all the Gentiles too…

Some argue that this is a new doctrine, not something that was available when the laws were given to Israel by Moses from the very beginning, is this true?

Could Gentiles Be Saved In The Old Testament?

When we look at the law and the prophets commonly called the “Old Testament”, we see the same message the Messiah commanded.

First of all we see Job who has a whole book written about him, he was an Edomite and not an Israelite. Below you can see scripture from the Septuagint (Job 42:16-17), one of the earliest translations of the bible.

If there’s any doubt that that Jobab is Job, we can find reference to the specific names mentioned in the Septuagint above in the book of Genesis 36:32-33

Genesis 36:32-33

32 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

Even though Esau (The Father of Edomites) And Jacob were born as twins Edomites they’re not related to the Israelite’s, therefore making them Gentiles.

Scriptures confirm this at the birth of Isaac and Jacob, Rebecca is told that “Two” nations were in her womb,

Genesis 25:23

23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Was Job An Israelite?

Job was considered a holy man and a man that kept the commandments of the Most High.

With this one example alone, we know that Gentiles do have a place in the scriptures and in salvation.

Not only was Job a Gentile, but the Most High also tested Job, and we know that the Most High tests those that are to be saved.

We also find a scripture in the Septuagint book of Job it says:

Job 42:17

17 And Job died, an old man and full of days: and it is written that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up.

This confirming that Job a Gentile will be raised up to see the kingdom to come.

The Mixed Multitude Out Egypt

When we look at Israel’s travel out of Egypt, where they were captive 400 years as prophesied

Genesis 15:13

13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

Israel left Egypt where they were in bondage, with a “mixed multitude” of peoples and these people were subject to the same laws and commandments (Leviticus 24:22) as the Israelite’s were.

Exodus 12:36-38

36 And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Other examples of holy Gentiles are:

Moses Wife The Midianite

The wife of Moses who was Midianite, she was known as a very zealous and holy lady, and a keeper of the commandments.

The Book of Ruth is named after a Moabite.

Ruth 1:14-16

14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Ruth 1:22

22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.

Old Testament References To Gentiles Being Saved

In the book of Isaiah (so called old testament) the Prophet Isaiah can also be seen confirming Gentile salvation when he said that he was sent as “a light unto the gentiles”, not just for the Nation of Israel.

Isaiah 49:6

6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

This coincides with Paul’s journey where he became an apostle onto the Gentile nations and here’s what he said…

Acts 28:28

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

In the book of Jeremiah, we also see that the most high tells Jeremiah, that he was formed in the womb to be a prophet unto the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

This again confirms that Gentile nations are apart of the Most High’s Kingdom to come.

In The book of Amos, the Prophet prophesize, that Edomites and Gentiles will be called by the Most High’s name in the last days to build up the kingdom to come.

Amos 9:9-12

9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this.

New Testament References To Gentiles Being Saved

We also see Peter the Apostle who makes it clear through the Gentile Cornelius, that the Most High is “no respecter of persons” and accepts all that keep the commandments of the Most High.

Acts 10:28

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Acts 10:34-35

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

The first scripture (Acts 10:28) show how Israel and Gentiles used to be completely separate, where the keeping of commandments were concerned.

Although we do know that Israel did permit Gentiles to live amongst them if they kept the commandments.

In Acts 10:34-35, we see that Peter relalising the meaning of his vision about unclean animals was related to people i.e. Gentiles. He concludes that the Most High excepts worship from all Nations (Gentiles) If they keep the commandments!

An Ethiopian (Cush) eunuch who was treasurer of the queen of sheeba is also baptized with water by the Apostle Philip. Philip was directed by an angel to go to Jerusalem, which is where he meets the Ethiopian (Cush). Read the verses below:

Acts 8:26-39

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Conclusion

So, Will Gentiles Be Saved During The Tribulation?

The answer is clearly yes! There have been various gentiles that have been save, from various nations. Edomites, Ethiopian, European, and no doubt many more.

For any Gentile out there who is not of the Hebrew Israelite persuasion, i.e. Negroes, Hispanics, Latinos, because these are the true Hebrew Israelite’s today. You still have a place in the kingdom to come.

And for the Israelites above who don’t know they’re Israelites, because prophecy said that you would discontinue from your heritage (Jeremiah 17:4).

It’s time for you to start keeping the commandments again and spreading the message to others.

You can use these examples above to strengthen your faith and pass them on to other gentiles and Israelite’s that are keen to keep the commandments of the Most High.

Shalom! And share this with someone that needs it.
